Do you feel invisible? Do you feel like no one seems to be interested in your brand? Do you feel like your talents are going unnoticed because they don’t fit the existing landscape in your industry? Do not get discouraged, be encouraged because these are all signs that you have something new and interesting to offer. When you don’t fit the mold, it is going to take more work on your part because you have to forge your own path, but the payoff at the end is well worth the effort.
Develop your Brand:
Come up with 3 words that best describe your brand. These three words will help guide you and how your audience sees you as you build a connection with them. You will want words that pack a punch and that really mean something to you as these words will come to define not just your brand, but you as well.
Finding these words: look at artwork that you are drawn to and then describe what draws you to it. What do you notice that others might not see the same way. That unique perspective is how you connect with the world. That perspective is your brand and will later become apparent in your brand logo, font, and imagery.
If you still struggle to come up with your branding words, find the best 3 words that you can and realize that you can refine their specificity with time. Just remember to do so sparingly to maintain brand consistency.
Improve your Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.):
Now that you have found your branding words, you can focus on your strengths as a company. Your strengths will show you what opportunities your company presents to your audience.
At first, start with the general cliche terms that everyone knows and uses for their brand. Once you find those basic buzz words, then get more specific until you are using less common words. The goal is to know strengths you are emphasizing, but have your branding words to be just barely past the tip of your tongue. You want common words that aren't the first words to mind, but still come to mind quickly.
Now that you have your specific strengths, use your branding words to find a succinct and interesting way to describe those strengths. Think of your S.E.O. as how you describe, advertise, and market that brand. Don’t be overly generic or you get lost among all the white noise, but don’t be overly specific or you will not relate as well with your audience.
Post daily:
Find something to share daily. This could be a blog post on your website, content on social media (either your own content or reposting someone else’s content), photos and videos from an event you hosted or attended recently, or an article about your brand that was recently published. Being socially active will help you get noticed.
If you want your brand to begin to generate buzz, first you will have to start a few conversations that display WHO YOU ARE. This is why posting daily is crucial to expanding your business in both size and in scope.
Don't be afraid to venture outside of your comfort zone a bit. This will help you to expand your business and your reach.
Summary: Getting noticed may sound like a real challenge in today's landscape, but I promise you it is not as hard as you think. The best thing that you can do is start conversations around notable conversations that display who you are (branding) and what your strengths are. Now ask yourself, why is no one talking about this?
